The price of an umbrella that guards against ultraviolet rays runs up to 6000 Japanese dollars.
Japanese consumers prefer umbrellas in plain and light color. Those who follow the fashion are deeply in love of umbrellas made of glossy and transparent materials. In general the standard length of umbrella shafts is about 60cm.
Traditional walking stick type umbrellas are still in fashion in Japan. Over 81% imported umbrellas are of this kind while jointed umbrellas make up only 18.8% of the imported ones. There are sluggish sales of golf bat type umbrella.
